TWICE A YEAR WE (AD)VENTURE FORTH!

Since 2005, the New Castle Historical Society has enjoyed two outings a year, Spring and Fall, to visit local (and not-so-local) places of historic interest. The last few years we have co-sponsored the trips with New Castle Recreation & Parks. We invite you to join us on these educational and entertaining excursions.

We hire a motorcoach and leave from Town Hall in New Castle in the morning and return in the late afternoon. We are fortunate to live in an area that is extremely rich in history and packed with many interesting places to visit. The trips are always advertised in our Newsletter and are usually fully subscribed. And, of course, we make sure to have a delicious lunch in the middle of our day.

Our trips are as close as Westchester County and NYC, and as far away as Newport, RI, and Philadelphia, PA. They’re like mini-vacations and offer the opportunity to learn about places you didn’t even know existed, or always wanted to visit, but didn’t get around to it, such as:

  • Wilderstein in Newburgh
  • Mills Mansion in Staatsburgh
  • Valentine-Varian House in the Bronx
  • Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton
  • Newport Mansion
  • The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia,

…and many more.

The possibilities are almost endless because of our wonderful location in Chappaqua that allows us to be transported to other worlds in mere hours.

All aboard the motorcoach. Let’s (ad)venture forth!
